Father Figure

I'm a 24 year old Black Male. Single, but taken lol. Not married, and..... No kids, no baby mommas. How many people can you say that about these days. It's like the government is giving people money to have kids these days... (well in certain cases they are, but that's another blog) Maybe it's just me that feels this way, but I can barely make it on my own nowadays and really am still not Totally on my own, let alone have another mouth to feed. Not to mention once you have a child there's no more ME. It's now ME & ..... But ya know what, I have the mentality that many Men, excuse me Lil dudes lack. They have kids and could care less about taking care of them, even if they do pay child support. Which child support is income sensitive so it only causes them to choose not to achieve more to "get over", which if you just man'd up in the first place you wouldn't have to deal with child support. Or how about being married first, and I guess that Virtue is lost because there's not many out there to teach it with the influx of teen pregnancies. Yea, I bet they're teaching their kids good morals and values! OK, I'm off on a tangent, sorry....
I was going to say, I'm 24 I have no kids, but I'm still a father figure. I have a little Godson and Little cousins as well. These kids will be looking up to me whenever I'm in their presence and I've come to the realization that I have the burden to be an enforcer as well as a teacher. I must set the example for proper behavior and also frown upon improper behavior. Some of the kids I come in contact with don't have a father figure in there life. It's not up to me to be their father, but it's my duty to be that Figure.
